      items to make the app work — saving your votes, remembering dismissed ads, and keeping
      you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies or sell your data.
    

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use localStorage — a similar browser feature that stores data locally on your device. Both make the app remember things so you don't have to.

What we store and why

Third-party services

Google Places API — powers our search results. Calls are made server-side so Google does not set cookies in your browser directly. Google Privacy Policy →

What we don't do

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing
We do not use third-party analytics that track you across sites
We do not build profiles for targeted advertising

How to manage cookies

You can clear localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. In most browsers: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data.

Clearing these will sign you out of your account and reset your vote history on this device. Your votes remain in our database if you were signed in.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you're based in the EU or UK, you have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Object to processing of your personal data
Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (ICO in the UK, DPC in Ireland)
